Geneva Access Initiative (GAI) is a non-profit organization that strengthens the participation, visibility, and access of refugee-led and locally rooted organization’s in international humanitarian and development arenas.
We provide tailored representation, fundraising, and capacity-building support to help partners engage effectively with donors, UN agencies, and global policy platforms.
Representation & Advocacy Support
Objective
Amplify the voice and presence of refugee-led and community-based actors in international spaces.
Service Include
- Representation at meetings, briefings, and consultations in Geneva;
- Facilitation of introductions with UN agencies, donors, and networks based in Geneva;
- Strategic advice on positioning, messaging, and participation in global events (e.g. Global Refugee Forum, AidEx, UN agencies global consultations, etc);
- Support in developing advocacy briefs, speaking points, and event coordination.
Fundraising & Partnership Development
Objective
Strengthen financial sustainability and access to international funding.
Service Include
- Active mapping of relevant calls for proposals, grants, and foundations.
- Guidance on donor engagement strategies and partnership approaches.
- Review, writing, or co-development of funding proposals.
- Support with registration on major donor portals.
- Option to collaborate through performance-based frameworks.
Capacity Strengthening & Compliance Support
Objective
Build the operational and compliance capacity required to partner with international donors.
Service Include
- Project implementation follow up – support in reporting, audit processes, etc.
- Tailored training or mentoring on donor compliance, project management, and reporting.
- Webinars and learning sessions on key donor requirements and good practices — e.g. “How to partner with UNHCR”, “Reporting to institutional donors”, etc.
